Spring Decorating for 2022 + Delicious Recipes!

Hello hello!! On my YouTube Channel this week, I'm decorating for spring in our new home, here in Arizona! It's always a learning curve decorating a new space, but I'm so happy with how it turned out. I'll be sharing some of my BEST decor tips in today's blog, along with some sneak peeks (in the YouTube video) on how our new paint turned out!

In today's Spring Clean + Decorate video, I also shared a delicious family recipe (Cilantro Lime Chicken + Mexican Chopped Salad)! I know you will enjoy it. It's simple, versatile, and great for leftovers too!

-on a budget-

While I'm decorating for a new season, I typically don't want to add too much more into my home! Shopping my home & finding just a few things either on sale or at a really low price are some of my favorite ways to decorate. This way, I can stay on budget & decorate my home all while feeling like I'm giving my space a fresh look! Thrifting is always a GREAT option & one of my faves!!

-budget friendly-

I love adding a pantry wreath, kitchen towels, live or faux plants and small, functional items like my fruit tray on my table or coffee table books to tie it all into the new season! These are easy & often inexpensive ways to bring new decor into your home, and not taking away any practicality!

Stretch your dollar by purchasing items that can be used longer than one season! As you pull out decor for the new season, you'll find how much you actually have & can use over & over, without needing to go out and buy more!

Throw pillows & blankets are a practical way to add decor into your home! We all find comfort in pillows & blankets, right? Instead of storing a ton of different pillows, I buy inserts ONCE, and add a new cover for the new season! It takes up so much less space, adds just enough of a touch to the new season, and is way more budget friendly. I typically find my pillow inserts, throw blankets, and pillow covers on Amazon!

Ingredients ::

  • 2 lb chicken breasts

  • 1/2 bunch cilantro

  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic -or- 4 garlic cloves

  • zest of 1 lime

  • juice of 3 limes

  • 3 Tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp pepper

First, add all ingredients (aside from chicken) into a blender, and blend until smooth. Next, pour blended marinade into a ziplock bag, along with the chicken. Put in the fridge to marinate for anywhere between 30 mins to several hours.

**The longer the meat marinades, the more flavorful it will taste!**

Once the chicken has been marinating for at least 30 minutes, it's time to cook it up! We prefer to grill this outside, but you can also grill on the stove, cook in the instant pot for 17 mins (for shredded chicken) or bake in an oven at 375 degrees for 30 mins (or until fully cooked).

Once the chicken is fully cooked, serve it as is, or slice it up, & serve on top of salads or inside tacos. ENJOY!!

Ingredients ::

Salad ::

  • 1 Head Romaine Lettuce (chopped)

  • 1 English cucumber (chopped)

  • 1 Red bell pepper (chopped)

  • 10-20 cherry tomatoes (cut in half)

  • 2 C corn (frozen, fresh, or canned)

  • 1 small red onion (small diced)

  • 1 avocado (diced)

  • 1/2 bunch of cilantro (chopped)

Dressing ::

  • 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • juice of 1 lime

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

  • 1 Tbsp water

  • 1 Tsp cumin

  • 1 tsp oregano

  • salt & pepper

**Add or take out any veggies you'd like!**

First, rinse & chop all your veggies into bite sized pieces. Then, add all chopped veggies & corn into a large bowl, and set aside.

To make the dressing, you'll add vinegar, lime juice, oil, water, cumin, oregano, salt & pepper into a small separate bowl, and mix until combined. Pour the dressing mixture on top of all the veggies, and gently toss until everything is well mixed. ENJOY!!

**You can serve this immediately, or put it in an air tight container!**

I hope you guys enjoyed this dinner recipe as much as our family does! Tag me over on Instagram when you've tried the recipes, and let me know how you customized it to your family!

Love you guys!
