25 FIVE MINUTE Cleaning Tasks!!

Hey guys! This week on my YouTube Channel, I focused on sharing 25 Five Minute Cleaning Tasks that can fit into ANYONE's routine! Regardless if you are a stay at home mom with littles, working a full time job, or just in a busy season of life... we can all find five minutes in the day to do a small cleaning task that will bring peace to your home an mind! {all products & cleaning tools used are linked at the bottom of this post!}

Click the link above to watch my 25 Five Minute Cleaning Tasks video!

1 - CLEANING YOUR SINK

Cleaning your sink can help your kitchen feel and smell clean! Adding a few drops of essential oils in the drain will add that extra touch.

2 - WIPE DOWN CABINETS

With just a wet rag (my favorite are E-cloths... linked below), go around your kitchen, bathroom, or office and spot clean where you find mess! You'd be surprised how much cleaner your cabinets will feel after just a quick wipe down.

3 - WIPE DOWN DOORS, DOORFRAMES, & LIGHT SWITCHES

Here's another spot we may become blind to, but believe me, a quick wipe down will make a HUGE difference! Depending on the size of your home, you may not get to every door, but set a 5 minute timer and see how much you can get to!

4 - DIFFUSE ESSENTIAL OILS

Diffusing essential oils will release a natural scent into your home, making it smell clean, even if it's all you can do for now!

5 - ADD ESSENTIAL OILS TO YOUR VACUUM

Going along with the essential oils... a quick way to make your home smell good is by adding a few drops of essential oils onto your vacuum roller, or in a cotton ball dropped in your vacuum canister! Each time after vacuuming, your carpets smell clean & the scent in your vacuum will last for weeks.

6 - MAKE YOUR OWN DIY ROOM SPRAY

Did you know you can make your own room spray at a very affordable price? I'm sharing my recipe for a Homemade Room Spray down below - I love being able to choose my scent and control the ingredients!

7 - SLOW VACUUM ONE ROOM

If you've been with me for a while, you'll be familiar with slow vacuuming! Go over your carpets once in a regular vacuum, and then once again in a very, very slow pace. Your vacuum will pick up an AMAZING amount of dirt, dust, and air out of your carpet fibers, making your floors feel soft and fluffy once again!

8 - CLEAR OFF A SURFACE

We all have those "catch-all" areas of our home. Whether it's a desk, counter, or nightstand, take a few minutes to put away the clutter. You will appreciate it later!

9 - WIPE OUT YOUR MICROWAVE

Add a bowl of vinegar or water & a cut lemon into the microwave & "cook" for 30 seconds. The gunk will wipe right off! From now on, it will be easy to maintain and will take you 5 minutes or less. Take it a step further and wipe the outside of the microwave as well!

10- CLEAR OUT FRIDGE

This one can end up taking up much of your day, so set a 5 minute timer and get done what you can! Check for expired foods, low/empty containers, wipe down a quick spill, and once the 5 minute timer is up, close the fridge doors and get back to it another day!

11- WIPE DOWN BATHROOM COUNTER

Sometimes I think wiping down the bathroom counters needs to be clumped in with cleaning my entire bathroom, but I don't always have time for that! Quickly wipe down your counters and it really will make a difference!

12- CLEAR OFF DRESSER/NIGHTSTAND

Your bedroom should be a peaceful place, and clutter does NOT belong! But, we all know, real life happens and things get away from us. Clear off a nightstand or dresser and enjoy the peace it immediately brings into your cozy space.

13- CHANGE YOUR BEDDING

You may think changing your bedding will take longer than 5 minutes, but try me! Time yourself - pulling off your sheets, throwing them in the washer, and set a timer to remind you to switch it later. When it's ready, switch it to the dryer, and then off course dress your bed once it's done. I guarantee it will only take about 5 minutes of your time!

14- DUST OFF A SURFACE

Here in the desert, our furniture gets dusty so quick! I try to dust everything & every surface in my home at least once a quarter, but I'd love to get into a routine of doing it more often. We all know these shelves need it!

15- DECLUTTER A DRAWER/CABINET

We don't always have time to declutter an entire space, but we have 5 minutes in our day to focus on one SMALL space - like a junk drawer! Throw away any trash, donate any unused items, and be on your way!

16- DO ONE LOAD OF LAUNDRY

I try to do one load of laundry a day to keep ahead of the mess, and thankfully the washer & dryer does most of it for me. I may not have enough time to put away the laundry, but popping it in the washer, and then into the dryer takes less than 5 minutes for sure!! And now, at least I know it's clean!

17- ORGANIZE A DRAWER/CABINET

Many times this chore may just require you to reset your drawer to the system you already had set up - but if not, Dollar Tree bins are inexpensive & so handy to reorganize a drawer or cabinet!

18- MAKE YOUR BED

This one probably should have been shared as number 1... because it's easiest to do right after you wake up! This way, you're already starting your day off with something productive, and it prevents you from climbing back into the bed during the day!

19- WASH YOUR THROW BLANKETS

Fabrics can hold a smell - good AND bad - so grab your throw blankets, throw them in the wash and lets help our home smell GOOD! Anyone else forget about washing these as often as you'd like??

20- CLEAN YOUR WINDOWS

If I don't have time to wash ALL my windows in my home, I don't wash my windows. ...then they NEVER GET CLEAN! On this day, I chose our dining room windows and focused on getting those clean. When my 5 minutes ran out, I moved on with my day. Now I can appreciate these clean windows, and it's okay that I didn't finish them all!

21- WIPE DOWN GARBAGE CAN

Take out the trash, wipe down the inside & outside, and any surrounding areas. Take it an extra step and add a cotton ball (with a few drops of essential oils) in the bottom of the canister. You won't need to plug your nose anymore!

22- DRY DUST YOUR BLINDS

Quickly take your duster (I love using this reusable duster & have for years!) to your shutters/blinds and freshen them up! Don't wait til spring cleaning to get this done!

23- VACUUM ONE/TWO ROOMS

No time for slow vacuuming? No problem! Take the vacuum quickly to a room or two, and maybe even your stairs! Both are easy to tackle for a quick result - & if you add essential oils to you roller & canister like I mentioned before, it will SMELL like you did more!!

24- SPRAY MOP ONE ROOM

A spray mop can help you save so much time if you're in a pinch! Spot clean or focus on one tiled area in your home and get the floor shining again!

25- WIPE DOWN YOUR MIRRORS

My FAVORITE way to clean my mirrors is with E-cloth's and water ! Yep, that's it! Again, this doesn't have to be clumped into an entire bathroom clean, but if you finish your mirros before the 5 minute timer is up, wipe down your sink or counter tops!

In this week's video, I created a list of the 25 tasks I suggested - and I thought I'd share it with you guys too! I also included a blank printable below if you would prefer that as well. Feel free to download + print for your own use!

I'm curious, what task do you dread doing, but now feel that it's doable? What 5 minute cleaning task can you think of that I DIDN'T include??

Have a great week!
