Girls Loft Room Makeover | Farmhouse Makeover Series :: Episode 3

Hey guys! I'm so excited to share Farmhouse Makeover Series :: Episode 3 with you guys on my YouTube Channel today! We transformed my niece's 5ft x 7 ft loft bedroom into a super functional space in today's episode! She's the only girl in the family, so I wanted to make sure to give her space a touch of her personality & interests, while giving the space intent, functionality & calmness! I'll also be sharing some of my favorite space saving tips for any bedroom & closet space!

In this video you'll see we incorporated shiplap under the loft bed to give it a finished look (everything's linked HERE!), a DIY ladder, lots of creative decor DIYs along with surprising organizing & small bedroom furniture solutions to maximize this tiny space! I hope it gives you some ideas for your own home on how to organize & decorate your space to make it more functional as well!

Clean Up & Declutter :: Doing a quick pick-up gives you a clean slate & a fresh mind to start your makeover!

First, we emptied out my niece's loft bedroom to give us an idea of what will be most useful! She had so much of her pictures, awards, books, etc. which we still wanted to implement in the bedroom, however, we decided on a much cleaner, organized & peaceful look for it!

Start Small :: Focus on one section at a time. A large area can be so overwhelming if you're trying to take it on all at once!

Especially because this loft room was already a small space, I wanted to make sure, more than ever, to make the area functional & use INTENT in my decorating & organizing. I started focusing on what the needs were in the room, & what unique touches she wished to add!

Take Your Time :: Don't feel rushed to make the space look great. Make sure you find things you LOVE & are INSPIRED by!

Save money by making things your own! Shop your home, thrift stores, or sales for baskets, bins or anything you need! Organization tools like baskets, bins, or lazy Susans, double as function & decor elements. Being creative with your storage (adding a cube organizer, baskets, shelving, etc.) will make your space look unique, clean, organized, & all done on a low budget!

Be Flexible :: Sometimes what we envision just doesn't turn out! Having an open mind & looking at several options will help you find the best set up for you!

I usually always have a plan for my room makeovers, but not everything goes as planned! It's important to remember to be flexible and allow changes in your ideas. Things don't always turn out... & that's okay! Giving yourself grace & trying many different arrangements will help you find the best functionality for the room!

I hope you guys enjoyed this Farmhouse Makeover video! I was so happy to be able to help provide this space for my niece & also share with you all! Be sure to tag me over on Instagram to show me how you've used these tips to makeover your area, big or small!
