Master Bedroom Makeover | Farmhouse Makeover Series :: Episode 4
Hey family! I'm so excited to share Farmhouse Makeover Series :: Episode 4 with you guys on my YouTube Channel today! I can't believe we're already at the end of this series.. it's been one of my favorites to share with you all! In this series, we've been able to transform a shared boys bedroom for 4 boys, a stunning laundry closet, a cozy loft bedroom for a preteen girl, and today we're transforming a master bedroom into a peaceful, private retreat!
In the master bedroom makeover, I really wanted to give my brother & sister-in-law a place in their home where they can have calmness & peace, separate from the rest of the house! And of course, I'll also be sharing some of my favorite space saving tips for ANY bedroom!
Before starting I makeover, I always ask:
What are the problems in this space?
What are the functions you want to accomplish in this room?
Once I have these questions answered, I'm able to really focus in on what changes need to be made in the room. Let's get started!
Clean Up & Declutter :: Doing a quick pick-up gives you a clean slate & a fresh mind to start your makeover!
Start Small :: Focus on one section at a time. A large area can be so overwhelming if you're trying to take it on all at once!
One thing they requested was storage space, so I focused on the cube organizer first! We put all clothing & supplies they use daily away in the cubes, which provides a clean & organized look! I also wanted to add a workspace for my brother, who works from home! I focused on what was functional for the space & stayed away from clutter & extra unneeded items.
Take Your Time :: Don't feel rushed to make the space look great. Make sure you find things you LOVE & are INSPIRED by!
Save money by making things your own! Shop your home, thrift stores, or sales for baskets, bins or anything you need! Organization tools like baskets, bins, or lazy Susans, double as function & decor elements. Being creative with your storage (adding a cube organizer, baskets, shelving, etc.) will make your space look unique, clean, organized & all done on a low budget!
Be Flexible :: Sometimes what we envision just doesn't turn out! Having an open mind & looking at several options will help you find the best set up for you!
I usually always have a plan for my room makeovers, but not everything goes as planned! It's important to remember to be flexible and allow changes in your ideas. Things don't always turn out... & that's okay! Giving yourself grace & trying many different arrangements will help you find the best functionality for the room!
I hope you guys enjoyed this Farmhouse Makeover video & the entire series for that matter! I was so happy to be able to help provide this peaceful space for my brother and sister-in-law & also so so excited to share with you all! Be sure to tag me over on Instagram to show me how you've used these tips to makeover your area, big or small!
