Farmhouse Makeover Series

Hey guys! A few months ago, we took a trip to Montana to visit my brother & his family, and film a Farmhouse Makeover Series that I shared with you guys! It's all on my YouTube Channel, where you can watch the whole Farmhouse Makeover Series come to life! In this makeover series, we transformed a Shared Bedroom for 4 boys, a Pre-Teen Girl's Loft Bedroom, a Laundry Room Closet, and a Peaceful Master Bedroom - all on a budget!! In today's blog post, I'll be adding before & after shots of each makeover, my best makeover tips, as well as links to the items used!!

M A K E O V E R T I P S

Clean Up & Declutter :: Doing a quick pick-up gives you a clean slate & a fresh mind to start your makeover!

Start Small :: Focus on one section at a time. A large area can be so overwhelming if you're trying to take it on all at once!

Take Your Time :: Don't feel rushed to make the space look great. Make sure you find things you LOVE & are INSPIRED by!

Be Flexible :: Sometimes what we envision just doesn't turn out! Having an open mind & looking at several options will help you find the best set up for you!

In order to make the room functional for 4 boys, we used a triple bunkbed with a full bed on bottom! This provided maximum space for the boys. Another FAVORITE bedroom item I use in almost all my makeovers is a cube organizer! Because this room was for 4 boys, this was the largest cube organizer we've used so far. This was a great way to use as a dresser for everyone to have their own space, in smallest amount of floor space used & at the best deal! They come in so many different sizes, colors, & you can customize it with the organizer bin pattern that fits your style.

In preparation for this makeover, I asked my brother & sister-in-law this question. They said there wasn't any function, enough storage, and little organization. Their main goal was to make it esthetically pleasing, (since it's currently open to the main living area) as well as store linens, laundry & extra cleaning supplies. Knowing this allows me to go into a makeover with INTENTION, whether it's just for function, or adding some decor to brighten up a space.

In this makeover, you'll see we incorporated shiplap under the loft bed to give it a finished look, a DIY ladder, lots of creative decor DIYs along with surprising organizing & small bedroom furniture solutions to maximize this tiny space! I hope it gives you some ideas for your own home on how to organize & decorate your space to make it more functional as well!
