Fall Clean + Decorate (part 1) :: Decorating, DIY & Recipes!!

I'm so excited it's finally FALL! I feel like I'm a little behind, because I usually have decorated for fall by now! But, I'm so happy with how it turned out, and I love decorating anyway! In today's video on my YouTube Channel, I'm bringing you guys along with me to decorate my house for fall, and I'm also sharing some of my favorite fall recipes! They're so delicious, easy, and cozy comfort foods! (Recipes are included in this blog post!)

R E C I P E S S H A R E D T O D A Y

ZUPPA TOSCANA

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground spicy sausage

  • 4-5 Russet Potatoes (chopped)

  • 1/2 onion (chopped)

  • 1/2 C bacon pieces

  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic

  • 6 C chicken broth

  • 2 C Kale or Swiss chard, (chopped small)

  • 1 C heavy whipping cream

  • 1 1/2 Tbsp corn starch

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

  • 1/2 tsp steak seasoning (we use Montreal Steak)

First, go ahead & chop your onion, potatoes & kale. (also cook bacon unless you're using "bacon bits". Then you'll brown sausage and onion in a stock pot. Once the sausage is cooked, add in chicken broth, garlic, and potatoes. Slow boil for 15-20 minutes, or until potatoes are fork tender. In a separate bowl, mix corn starch and heavy cream (removing any lumps). Next, add heavy cream mixture, chopped kale, and bacon bits into the pot and stir. Add salt, pepper, steak seasoning, and cayenne pepper (optional). We love serving this with garlic bread!! Enjoy!!

PUMPKIN FRENCH TOAST

Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs

  • 1/4 cup canned pumpkin puree

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg

  • 8 slices bread (I used brioche)

  • butter or oil spray if needed

In a bowl, beat the eggs, pumpkin puree, cinnamon, & nutmeg together. Dip the bread slices into the pumpkin mixture until coated on both sides. Next, place the dipped bread slices onto a greased skillet/griddle and cook until browned on both sides. Repeat with the remaining bread. Enjoy!! (I love to double this recipe & make extra to pop into the toaster on busy mornings for a quick breakfast!)

  • SHOP YOUR HOME :: This should always come first! Be creative when "shopping". For example, in my recent bathroom makeover at my sister's apartment, we reused a jewelry holder as a towel holder! It worked perfectly and costed us absolutely nothing!

  • THROW PILLOW COVERS :: Buy inserts once & buy covers to change the style, color, texture or mood of the room, on a budget! This can be an easy way to switch out your decor depending on the season, without needing to purchase or store so many pillows! I tend to get most of my throw pillow inserts + covers from Amazon, and have saved the fall ones I love in my Amazon Favorites!

  • THRIFT & RESTORE :: Be open-minded when browsing a thrift store or online marketplace. You can find tons of pieces with good bones that just need a little TLC! On my vlog channel, I shared a Thrift Shop With Me, when I was searching for items to transform our guest room! I can't tell you how many things over the years I have either painted -or- spray painted from something I've thrifted, or already owned! A can of spray paint can completely transform almost anything & not only give it new life, but completely change the style of the item!

  • SHOP DISCOUNT STORES :: Stores like Ross, TJMaxx, Marshalls, etc. sell unique pieces which are highly discounted! I also love sharing deals for items I find online on the app LIKEtoKNOWit so if you're not following me there, definitely do! - So you don't miss any special deals I find or items I'm loving & sharing!

Be sure to tag me over on Instagram & share with me if you've used any of these tips!

PART 2 of Fall Clean & Decorate With Me will be coming next week, where I'll be including some more fall recipes as well!

Love you guys!!

XO, Amanda
