Hey guys! I'm so excited to share with you guys Episode 1 of our -NEW- Budget Boho Makeover Series on my YouTube Channel! Our first makeover project was transforming my sister's outdoor patio! Her family loves to spend time outside in their backyard. We really wanted to create an inviting space not only for them, but also for guests to come visit! We worked hard to stay on a budget by thrift shopping, DIY-ing, and using decor or furniture we already had! I can't wait for you guys to see the final result!!

Before I start any makeover, I always ask:
What are the problems in this space?
What are the functions you want to accomplish in this space?
Once I have these questions answered, I'm able to really focus in on what changes need to be made in the room. Then, the planning starts!
- CLEAN UP & MAKE A PLAN! -
A quick pick-up & declutter gives you a clean slate & a fresh mind to start your makeover! This patio started out as a blank slate, which made cleaning up really easy. After moving some old broken furniture and giving the patio a good power washing, we were ready to start!
I knew I wanted to create a space their whole family can enjoy. They often hold big family & friend gatherings, spending a lot of their time in their backyard! I really wanted their patio to reflect their love for being outside together, and I think we accomplished that.
- START SMALL & TAKE YOUR TIME! -
A large area can be so overwhelming if you're trying to take it on all at once! Don't feel rushed to make the space look great. Makeovers usually take me weeks to plan out everything I want. Make sure you find things you LOVE & are INSPIRED by!
We found a great way to cover their A/C unit, and upgrade the look of the area at the same time! Snake plants do really well in a dry climate, and they are easy to take care of -- it's a win/win!
- BE FLEXIBLE & ALLOW HICCUPS! -
Sometimes what we envision just doesn't turn out! I hardly ever have a makeover without some type of hiccup! Having an open mind & looking at several options will help you find the best set up for you!
