Hey family! I finally decorated for Christmas on my YouTube Channel! This year, I'm bringing you guys along to decorate a Candy Cane Lane theme in our basement! I felt this theme fit my kids the most, and the basement has become their own little space, so I was so excited to incorporate the Christmas season down there! It has already snowed here a few times, so I feel a little behind, but I'm also just so excited to decorate for Christmas 2020 & share with y'all! I love the cozy feel Christmas decor brings to my home & family! In today's YouTube video, I shared some winter decorating ideas, along with tips to stay in budget during this busy season! This has been a favorite of my family's during the cold winter season!

We always put up our Christmas tree after Thanksgiving, but I like to decorate for winter prior to that! Then, I add in the tree & Christmas touches after! (However in the basement, we pretty much just went full on Christmas right away this year lol)

SHOP YOUR HOME :: This should always come first! Be creative when "shopping". Use something in your home, & give it a new purpose! There are so many items already in your home that could work perfectly and cost you absolutely nothing! Also, when decorating for the holidays, you can find simple colored decor (like red for Christmas) and that can be used all year round, or at least during Christmas & Valentines Day!
THROW PILLOW COVERS :: Buy inserts ONCE & buy seasonal covers to change the style, color, texture or mood of the room, ON A BUDGET! This can be an easy way to switch out your decor without needing to purchase or store so many pillows! Most of my throw pillow inserts + covers are saved in my Amazon Favorites or my LIKEtoKNOWit page!
THRIFT & RESTORE :: Be open-minded when browsing a thrift store or online marketplace. You can find tons of pieces with good bones that just need a little TLC! I can't tell you how many things over the years I have either painted -or- spray painted from something I've thrifted, or already owned! A can of spray paint can completely transform almost anything & not only give it new life, but completely change the style of the item!
SHOP DISCOUNT STORES :: Stores like Ross, TJMaxx, Marshalls, etc. sell unique pieces which are highly discounted! I find so many of my favorite items at any & all of these stores, every season!
